[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀓𑀟 (*kaḍa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀇𑀓𑀸- (-ikā-) (attested in 𑀓𑀟𑀸 (kaḍā)), from Sanskrit कट (káṭa, “twist of straw”).[1]
