[edit]Inherited from Prakrit *𑀓𑀼𑀟𑀻 (*kuḍī), of Munda or Dravidian origin; compare Santali ᱠᱩᱲᱤ (kuṛi, “girl”) and Kannada ಕೊಡ (koḍa, “youth”).
