[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘎𑘭𑘪𑘘𑘲 (kasavaṭī), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀓𑀲𑀧𑀝𑁆𑀝 m (kasapaṭṭa), 𑀓𑀲𑀯𑀝𑁆𑀝 m (kasavaṭṭa), from Sanskrit कषपट्टिका (kaṣapaṭṭikā), from कष (kaṣa) + पट्टिका (paṭṭikā). Compare Gujarati કસોટી (kasoṭī), Hindustani کَسَوٹِی (kasauṭī) / कसौटी (kasauṭī), Kachchi કસોટી (kasoṭī), Sindhi ڪَسوٽِي / कसौटी, Punjabi ਕਸੌਟੀ (kasauṭī) / کَسَوٹی (kasauṭī), Maithili कसौटी (kasauṭī) / 𑒏𑒮𑒾𑒙𑒲 (kasauṭī).
