Inherited from Prakrit 𑀉𑀫𑁆𑀫𑀺𑀮𑁆𑀮𑀇 (ummillaï) (compare Sanskrit उन्मीलयति (unmīlayati), उन्मीलति (unmīlati)). Related to उमयनं (umayna). Compare Marathi उमलणे (umalṇe), Varhadi उमयनं (umayna), Gujarati ઊમલવું (ūmalvũ), Odia ମେଲିବା (melibā), Bengali মেলা (mela), Assamese মেলা (mela).
