From earlier 𑤧𑤝𑤁𑤽𑤝𑤥𑤆 (rada𑤁𑤽dayae), the fossilised locative of 𑤧𑤝𑤁𑤽𑤝𑤥 (rada𑤁𑤽daya), a borrowing from Sanskrit राज्य (rājya).
