Etymology
[edit]From Persian گناه (gonâh), from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (wnʾs /wināh/), 𐫇𐫏𐫗𐫀𐫍 (wynʾh /wināh/, “sin, crime”); compare also borrowed into Arabic جُنَاح (junāḥ) and doublet of ܓܘܼܢܚܵܐ (gunḥā).
