Etymology
[edit]From Aramaic אַרְבַּעְסַר (arəbaʿəsar). Equivalent to ܐܲܪܒܥܵܐ (arbʿā, “four”) + ܥܸܣܪܵܐ (ʿisrā, “ten”); compare Arabic أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ (ʔarbaʕata ʕašara) and Hebrew אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר (arba'á 'asár).
