Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *yatgak (“bed”), from *yat- (“to lie, to sleep”), the same root of یاتمق (yatmak, “to lie down, sleep”) and یتاغان (yatağan, “type of sword”); cognate with Azerbaijani yataq and Crimean Tatar yataq.
