Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *čöŋgek (a kettle, pitcher); further origin is unknown.[1] Cognate with Azerbaijani çölmə, Chuvash чӳлмек (čülmek), Crimean Tatar çülmek, Kazakh шөлмэк (şölmék), Kyrgyz чөлмөк (cölmök), Nogai шоьлмек (şölmek), Tatar чүлмәк (çülmäk).
