  1. to spread out
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 113:3:
      وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ
      wamin šarri ḡāsiqin ʔiḏā waqaba
      And from the evil of darkness when it is intense,
