Etymology
[edit]Applying the pattern فِعْلَلّ (fiʕlall) to multiple unclear words, including in some forms at least كِرْش (kirš, “paunch”) and perhaps حَشَف (ḥašaf, “the worst kind of dates that dry up without ripening so that they have no flesh”), with later augment (إِلْحَاق (ʔilḥāq)) of ر (r) for dissimilation (إِدْغَام (ʔidḡām)).
