     هالوك: هو عند أهل مصر وإفريقية أيضاً اسم للنوع من الطراثيث وهو الجعفيل وباليونانية أرونفحي ومعناه أسد العدس وقد ذكرته في الألف وهو بالعراق التراب الهالك وهو سم الفأر وأهل المغرب تسميه رهج الفأر وهو الشك وقد ذكر في الشين المعجمة.

     Broomrape: It is amongst man in Egypt and Africa another name for a genus of desert thumb (طُرْثُوث (ṭurṯūṯ)), and it is also جَعْفِيل (jaʕfīl), and in Greek ὀροβάγχη (orobánkhē), and its meaning أَسَد الْعَدَس (ʔasad al-ʕadas) which I have noted under the letter Alif, and it is in Iraq choking earth and it is mice poison and man in the Maghreb calls it mice powder and it is arsenic trioxide (شَكّ (šakk)) I have mentioned under the latter Šīn of the lexicon.
