Etymology

    Inherited from Middle Hindi ماتھا (matha /⁠māthā⁠/) (c. 1503),[1] from Prakrit 𑀫𑀢𑁆𑀣𑀬 (matthaya), from Sanskrit मस्तक (mastaka).[2]
