Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kötür- (“to raise, lift”); cognate with Old Turkic 𐰚𐰇𐱅𐰇𐰼 (kötür-), Azerbaijani götürmək, Kazakh көтеру (köteru), Kyrgyz көтөрүү (kötörüü), Turkmen götermek, Uyghur كۆتەرمەك (kötermek) and Uzbek ko'tarmoq.
