[edit]Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish كِرْچَكْ (gerçäk, “true”), from Proto-Turkic *gẹr-tü (“true”). Cognate with Azerbaijani gerçək, Karakhanid [script needed] (kertü), Turkmen gerçek, Yakut кырдьык (kırjık). Also compare Mongolian гэрээ (geree, “agreement”).
