[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kirpik (“eyelash”); cognate with Azerbaijani kirpik, Bashkir керпек (kerpek), Chuvash хӑрпӑк (hărp̬ăk), Kazakh кірпік (kırpık), Kyrgyz кирпик (kirpik), Tatar керфек (kerfek), Turkmen kirpik, Uyghur كىرپىك (kirpik) and Uzbek kiprik.
