[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kạĺčïgu (“currycomb, scraper”), from *kạĺčï- (“to scratch, scrape, curry”), the same root of قاشیمق (kaşımak, “to scratch, scrape”); cognate with Azerbaijani qaşov.
