Borrowed from Italian raspa, from raspare (“to scrape”), from Vulgar Latin *raspāre (“to scrape”), from Proto-Germanic *hraspōną (“to scrape”).

1. rasp, file, a hand tool used for removing sharp edges or for cutting

   Synonyms: اگه (eğe), تورپو (törpü), سوهان (suhan), مبرد (mibred)

2. scraper, an instrument with which anything is scraped

   Synonyms: قاشاغی (kaşağı), قزاغی (kazağı)
