[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ẹ̄ke- (“file”); cognate with Azerbaijani əyə, Bashkir игәү (igəw), Kazakh егеу (egeu), Kyrgyz өгөө (ögöö), Southern Altai эгӱ (egü), Turkmen ige, Uyghur ئېكەك (ëkek) and Uzbek egov.
