Etymology

Maybe extended from ف ر ر (f-r-r) meaning “to flee”, wherefore “joy breaking out”; release, breaking out and release from sorrow also being senses of ف ر ج (f-r-j). And the same derivation type in م ر ح (m-r-ḥ) related to joy.
