From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (spwhtn', spwc- /⁠spōxtan, spōz-⁠/, “to thrust; to overstep, disobey; to delay, reject”). Compare Old Armenian սպուժեմ (spužem), an Iranian borrowing.

1. (archaic) to thrust, poke, press, penetrate

     تخم محنت بپاش در گلشان
     خنجر کین سپوز در دلشان

     toxm-e mehnat bepâš dar gelešân
     xanjar-e kin sepuz dar delešân

     Sow their lives with seeds of misery!
     Penetrate the dagger of grudge in their hearts!

2. (archaic) to sodomize

     چو باشد مُلک ایران محشر خر
     خر نر می‌سپوزد بر خر نر

     čo bâšad molk-e irân mahšar-e xar / xar-e nar mi-sepuzad bar xar-e nar

     As long as Iran is the dominion of donkeys (metaphor: pederasts) / the male donkey sodomizes the male donkey!
