[edit]Borrowed from Arabic رَبِيعُ الأَوَّل (rabīʕu l-ʔawwal). By surface analysis, Arabic رَبِيع (rabīʕ, “spring, Rabi”) + Arabic الأَوَّل (al-ʔawwal, “first”).
