Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from Arabic رَاتِينَج (rātīnaj, “resin”), itself borrowed from Ancient Greek ῥητίνη (rhētínē). Doublet of رچینه (reçine, “resin; colophony”).

- resin, gum, a highly viscous secretion of many plants, particularly coniferous trees
- turpentine, any oleoresin secreted by the wood or bark of certain trees, like the terebinth
