حَظِيَ (ḥaẓiya) I (non-past يَحْظَى (yaḥẓā), verbal noun حُظْوَة (ḥuẓwa) or حِظْوَة (ḥiẓwa))

  2. to acquire, to obtain, to attain [with بِ (bi) ‘something’]
    • Louisa Alcott, Little Women, Chapter 1, Arabic translation "Dar wa Maktabat al-Hilal, Lebanon":
lā ʔaẓunnu ʔanna mina l-ʕadl ʔan yaḥẓā baʕḍ an-nās bi-ʔašyāʔ rāʔiʕa wa-jadīda baynamā naḥnu lā.
I don't think it's fair that some people have wonderful and new things while we don't.
