[edit]From earlier گورب (gôrab), from Middle Persian *gōrab or reborrowed from Arabic جَوْرَب (jawrab); for more see the Arabic. Compare Northern Kurdish gore / گۆرە (gore), Northern Luri گۊرمی (gurmi), Classical Syriac ܓܘܪܒܐ (gurbā), Hebrew גרב (gérev).
