[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀯𑁄𑀚𑁆𑀛 (vojjha), from Sanskrit वह्य (vahyá),[1] from Proto-Indo-European *wóǵʰ-yo-s (“fit to be carried”), from *weǵʰ- (“to carry, draw”).
