Etymology

From the roots ه ن ء (h-n-ʔ) meaning "to enjoy, to go down easily, to be well-received", and ش ف ي (š-f-y) meaning "to be healthy, to be wholesome, to restore".

1. bon appétit; "May it be with enjoyment and restoration", "May it go down easily and bring health"

   Synonyms: بِالصِّحَّة وَٱلْعَافِيَة (bi-ṣ-ṣiḥḥa wa-l-ʕāfiya), شَهْيَة طَيِّبَة (šahya ṭayyiba)
