أَفْرَدَ (ʔafrada) IV (non-past يُفْرِدُ (yufridu), verbal noun إِفْرَاد (ʔifrād))

  1. to be peerless or unequaled [with بِ (bi) ‘in something’]
  2. to assign, to destine, to earmark, to allocate, to set aside [with accusative ‘someone/something’, along with بِ (bi) or لِ ‘for some purpose’]
  3. to isolate, to separate
  4. to devote [with accusative ‘a book, etc.’ and لِ (li) ‘to a given subject’]
  5. to seclude, to estrange, to isolate [with accusative ‘someone/something’, along with عَنْ (ʕan) or مِنْ (min) ‘from someone/something else’]
  6. to remove from authority or office
  7. to send away [with accusative ‘someone’ and إِلَى (ʔilā) ‘to somewhere’]
  8. to give birth to one animal (not used for she-camel because it almost never brings more than one baby camel)
