  1. to intend (to do something); to be about to, to be prepared for
    • c. 1030, Farrukhī Sīstānī, “Qaṣīda 131”, in دیوان فرخی سیستانی [Dīvān of Farrukhī]‎[1]:
      کسی کو را خلاف آورد گو آهنگ رفتن کن
      که روزی با خلاف او به گیتی زیستن نتوان
      kasē k-ō rā xilāf āwarad gō ahāng-i raftan kun
      ki rōzē bā xilāf-i ō ba gētī zīstan na-twān
      Tell the person who opposes him: "Prepare to leave!"
      For nobody can live in this world for one day while opposing him.
