Etymology

From Proto-Indo-European *dru-rā-mo (firm, solid), which is related to *dóru (tree). Cognate with Proto-Germanic *trumaz (firm, strong), Ancient Greek δροόν (droón, strong, mighty), Latin dūrus (hard, rough).[1][2]

Usage notes

The Hellenizing School used this as a prefix corresponding to Ancient Greek δια- (dia-), e.g. տրամաբան (tramaban) = διάλογος (diálogos), տրամադրեմ (tramadrem) = διατίθημι (diatíthēmi).
