[edit]From Classical Syriac ܚܫܝܒ (ḥəšīḇ, “considered, calculated”), absolute masculine singular passive participle of ܚܫܒ (ḥəšaḇ, “to think, count, calculate”). According to J̌ahukyan, a borrowing from the Aramaic ancestor of the same is more probable.
