[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic ꙗсьнъ (jasĭnŭ), from Old Ruthenian ꙗсный (jasnyj), from Proto-Slavic *ě̀snъ. Cognate with Russian я́сный (jásnyj) and Ukrainian я́сни́й (jásnýj).
