Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Old Church Slavonic чоудотворьць (čudotvorĭcĭ), a calque of Ancient Greek θαυματουργός (thaumatourgós). Equivalent to чу́до (čúdo, “miracle”) + творе́ц (tvoréc, “doer, maker”).
Compare Russian чудотворец (čudotvorec) and Serbo-Croatian чудотворац.
