[edit]From Proto-Permic *śurs, borrowed from an Indo-Iranian language, ultimately from Proto-Indo-Iranian *saȷ́ʰásram (compare Sanskrit सहस्र (sahasra)). Cognates include Komi-Permyak сюрс (śurs) and Udmurt сюрс (śurs).

[edit]From Proto-Permic *śurs, ultimately borrowed from an Indo-Iranian language, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *saȷ́ʰásram. (compare Sanskrit सहस्र (sahasra) and Avestan 𐬵𐬀𐬰𐬀𐬢𐬭𐬀 (hazaŋra)). Cognates include Komi-Zyrian сюрс (śurs) and Komi-Permyak сюрс (śurs).
