[edit]Proto-Slavic *skora + -іна (-ina) as *скары́на (*skarýna), further suffixed with -ка (-ka). Compare Ukrainian скори́на (skorýna) and its diminutive скори́нка (skorýnka), and more distantly Polish skórka (“peel, skin”).
