Etymology

Probably borrowed from Polish rozbestwić (to imbrute). By surface analysis, роз- (roz-) +‎ бе́стія (béstija) +‎ -ити (-yty).[1] Compare Belarusian разбэ́сціць (razbéscicʹ).

  1. to corrupt, to debauch, to deprave, to pervert (erode the moral adherence of; influence someone to behave badly)

  2. to spoil (ruin the character of by overindulgence; allow to become undisciplined)
