[edit]From Proto-Finno-Permic [Finno-Volgaic] *urma~*ūrma (“swelling or bulge”). Cognate with Moksha урма (urma), Kildin Sami [script needed] (uǫrm), archaic Estonian urm and possibly Finnish hurma.
