[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic ночьлѣгъ (nočĭlěgŭ), from Proto-Slavic *noťьlěgъ. Equivalent to ноч (noč, “night”) + ляжа́ць (ljažácʹ). Compare Russian ночле́г (nočlég), Ukrainian нічлі́г (ničlíh), Polish nocleg, Czech nocleh, Slovak nocľah.
