Etymology

Inherited from Old East Slavic каꙗтисѧ (kajatisę),[1] from Proto-Slavic *kàjati, with reflexive -ся (-sja) suffix. Compare Russian ка́яться (kájatʹsja), Belarusian ка́яцца (kájacca).
