Etymology

A semi-calque from Turkish (Ottoman Turkish یاشایش) yaşayış (“being, way of life”): the first component йәшә- (yəşə-) is translation (and cognate) of Turkish yaşa- (“to live”), while the second is borrowed "as is" and cannot be reestablished or reinterpreted in Bashkir.
