[The suffix] -зан refers to a woman in charge of an operation. It follows -чӣ or -рон, if these suffixes are used: трактор-чи-зан (cf., Russ., трактористка). The suffix -духтар is used instead of -зан, if the agent is a girl. [...] The reforms implemented by the new government after the 1917 revolution effected changes in lifestyle and inculcated a new set of values in the republics. Today, the vestiges of the past: монарх (monarch); дамка (king); дума (council); земство (elective council in pre-revolutionary Russia); император (emperor); императорзан (empress); диктатор (dictator); царизм (tsarism); and the whole gamut of the feudal (феодалӣ) bureaucracy live side by side with the tenets of the революция (revolution).
