[edit]From Old Belarusian долото (doloto), from Old East Slavic долото (doloto), from Proto-Slavic *dolto, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *dálbta, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰelbʰ-. Cognate with Ukrainian долото́ (dolotó).
