Inherited from Bulgar وج (weç, three),[1] itself inherited from Proto-Turkic *üč (three).[2][3]

Cognate with Khalaj ü̂ç, Turkish üç, Uzbek uch, Bashkir өс (ös) and Yakut үс (üs).
