Etymology
[edit]Unknown. Related to Mycenaean Greek 𐀞𐀸𐀀 (pa-we-a). Perhaps from Pre-Greek, but compare Ancient Greek φάρσος (phársos) and Lithuanian bùrė (“sail”). Compare also φάρσος (phársos).
