[edit]Inherited from Byzantine Greek λογαριασμός (logariasmós, “calculation”), from the aorist stem λογαριασ- of the verb λογαριάζω (logariázo) + -μός (-mós), the verb from Ancient Greek λογάριον (logárion) + -ᾰ́ζω (-ắzō), from the neuter diminutive of masculine λόγος (lógos, “word, reason, explanation”).[1]
