[edit]From δύσπνοος (dúspnoos, “short of breath”, adjective) (also δύσπνους (dúspnous) by contraction) + -ῐᾰ (-ĭă, suffix forming abstract nouns), from δῠσ- (dŭs-, “bad-, hard-, ill-”) + πνέω (pnéō, “blow, breathe”) + -ος (-os, suffix forming adjectives).
