Etymology

Learned borrowing from French diachronique. By surface analysis, διαχρον(ία) (diachron(ía)) +‎ -ικός (-ikós).[1]

διαχρονικός (diachronikósm (feminine διαχρονική, neuter διαχρονικό)

  1. (chiefly linguistics) diachronic (of, pertaining to or concerned with changes that occur over time)
    Antonym: συγχρονικός (synchronikós)
