[edit]From Proto-Hellenic *dléukus, from Proto-Indo-European *dléwkus. Related to Mycenaean Greek 𐀆𐀩𐀄𐀒 (de-re-u-ko /dleukos/) and Ancient Greek γλυκύς (glukús).
