Etymology
[edit]Unknown. Not related as *μλίτον (*mlíton) to either μύλη (múlē, “mill”) or ἀμαλδύνω (amaldúnō, “to soften, mitigate”).[1] Perhaps cognate to Albanian lëpjetë (“sorrel”). Also compare the cognates listed at Proto-Slavic *loboda (“goosefoot”).
