[edit]From Scythian *mava, *mauka (“hero, tiger”) (cf. Khotanese mauya, muyi (“tiger”); Sogdian 𐼺𐼷𐼴 (myu), 𐫖𐫏𐫇 (myu, “tiger”)).[1]
Cognate with Gandhari 𐨨𐨆𐨀 (moa) and 𐨨𐨆𐨒 (moga).
